About Grass Grub
Grass Grub Mowers are proudly operated and made in New Zealand by Bruce Simmonds. Bruce has been a lawn mowing contractor for over 6+ years and is a tried and true tester of the Grass Grub lawn mowers! He recently purchased the business from A1 Mowers in mid 2020.

A bit of history...

The Grub was initially developed in 2000 by Mike Triezenberg after sharing frustrations with other lawn care specialists with regard to the high failure rate and ongoing costs of repairs of their equipment. He produced and sold several machines to a handful of contractors. Together, they field tested the Grass Grub over the next few years in all weathers and lawn types to determine its contractor worthiness.

Over the years the Grub has held its proven track record with many satisfied lawn contractors enjoying increased profits from faster mowing times, increased work output, less downtime, and considerable savings on maintenance costs.

Whilst it has undergone numerous refinements over the years, the essence of the machine still remains the same.
​
In 2010 Tony Dance purchased the design from Mike and continued the development and the improvements to the Grub 550 from his business A1 Mowers and Equipment. Tony sadly passed away in late 2019 and the business was then purchased by Bruce Simmonds who wanted to ensure the Grass Grub lived on!

With over 20 years in production the Grass Grub 550 now has a proven track record with many satisfied lawn contractors, with the continued development and enhancements making the mower even better.

The Grass Grub is unrivaled in its use thanks to insightful engineering from Tony, Mike and the extensive contractors that field tested the refinements over the years.

The journey will continue under Bruce's ownership. He is looking forward to building a contractor tough machine that suits New Zealand conditions with a focus on a quality, dependable machine.
